All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines key terms, conditions, insurance provisions, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In cases of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us
- To rent a vehicle in Driffield, you must be at least 21 years of age, although specific age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type, with additional charges for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Please provide valid payment information and a security deposit, as well as any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Driffield office. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit will generally be collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document this assessment. Upon returning the vehicle, please ensure it is in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur charges. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling costs will apply if the level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, plus an administration fee.

You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to minimize your financial risk. It is advisable to review these options carefully. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless covered by additional insurance. Damage resulting from negligence or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications

7. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses

Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is also prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without permission are not acceptable practices.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Liability in Driffield
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Driffield will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be addressed exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
